CALCULATOR

The Calculator is yet another application which is used to perform mathematical and scientific calculations. To open the calculator, execute this.

Start->All Programs->Accessories->Calculator

There are two modes in the calculator.

• Standard Mode
• Scientific Mode

The calculator appearing in the above figure is in the standard mode. This is very much similar to the ordinary physical calculator that we use. You can use the keyboard/mouse to enter the numbers and the operators. The numbers entered and the results would be displayed in the display bar.

Another feature that is available is the Digit Grouping. If you select Digit Grouping from the View menu, the numbers would be separated by comma, following the European convention. i.e., the numbers to the left of the decimal point are separated by comma for every three digits starting from the right. Just try it out and see for better understanding.

To switch to the scientific mode, select scientific from the view menu.
