HELP AND SUPPORT
Windows XP provided several facilities and I have tried to cover as much as possible in this site. But it's really very difficult to cover everything. How to access the remaining facilities? That's why we have Help and Support Center in Windows XP.
Microsoft knowledge Base is an online database of questions and answers.
Click Start->Help and Support to access the help.

If you find your desired topic under Pick a Help Topic, then click on it to get more details to solve your problem.
Ask for Assistance has the following options viz.,
- Remote Assistance
- Support and Windows XP newsgroups
You can use these options to solve your problem, if you have an internet connection.
You can also use the Search text box provided on top to search for any item that is not listed in the home page. Enter a word or phrase into the search text box and press ENTER. The Search Results are displayed in the left pane and there is a toolbar in the right pane containing Add to Favorites, Change View, Print and Locate in Contents button.
The Search Results pane will be divided into
- Suggested Topics
- Full Text Search Matches
- Microsoft knowledge Base
Suggested Topics :Suggested Topics are keyword matches. These topics are further divided into Pick a Task and Overviews, Articles and Tutorials.
Full-Text Search Matches :Full-Text Matches are topics that contains the words that you enter in the search box in the body of the help topics.
Microsoft knowledge Base :The results are from Microsoft knowledge Base. You need an internet connection to access this.
Now, let us see about the four buttons that appear in the right pane.
Add to Favorites :If you find a help page to be useful and want to refer to it later, just click on Add to Favorites button.
Change View :You can hide/show the left pane by clicking on the Change View button.
Print :You can print the help pages with this button.
Locate in Contents :If you click on Locate in Contents, table of contents for help and support will be displayed in the left pane.
Index :You can use this if you want to search based on the first few letters. The left pane turns into an index.
You can see a prompt viz., Type in the keyword to find: and a text area below it in the left pane. If you enter a few letters, the index will list the words that started with the entered letters. You can click on the appropriate entry and then click the Display button.
